For some time, I wondered whether I should loathe or love Rebel Inc. The mechanics and gameplay captivated me. The high level of difficulty in particular motivated me to keep on mastering the game. On the other hand, the setting and the clear, real-life reference to the war in Afghanistan raised many questions and also triggered scepticism and aversion in me.

I did not find a quick answer to the question of whether the depiction, mechanics and narrative of the game fulfil the expectations of the topic and my own position. I often ask myself these questions, not just in relation to this particular game. This analysis helped me with this dispute.
